Who We Are

Joan M. Silver, LMFT

Joan has been a licensed Marriage Family Therapist  with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners since 2005 and recently moved to Southern Arizona from California.  She believes that family systems, our relationships, how we see and what we expect from ourselves and others, are at the core of our "issues".  It is our relationship to our "issues"  and not the "issue" itself, that causes us difficulties in our every day life.   Her treatment focus is to help her clients learn to tap into their own assets and make choices that will assist them in navigating in today's fast changing demanding, world. A major focus of therapy is learning to take personal responsibility  for your actions and reactions and understanding that we have no control over changing anyone except ourselves.  The acceptance of this fact gives us a sense of security and peace.
